The DUKE Lucky Jack SLS ULTRA is the lightest 29″ carbon rim ever designed by DUKE Racing wheels. By exploiting the SLS technology we were able to lower the weight of the Lucky jack SLS Ultra to 275g while maintaining the same characteristics as the previous version. The same strength and rigidity that made the reputation of Lucky Jack. It’s the ultimate weapon for demanding races. Light, rigid, resistant and ultra nimble its will face all situations. The Hookless system makes it more resistant and offers better tire strength, allowing inflation at low pressure.

The Lucky Jack ultra SLS3 by DUKE is a very light and broad rim for cross country and marathon use.  Weighing 265g (+/-15g) the weight is surprisingly lowGreat value have the dimensions of the rim. With 24,5 / 28 or 30 mm inside the rim provides not only an excellent lateral stiffness, but also the tire optimum support width. Also at low air pressure, the driver (in) no spongy driving feel, as the tires can snap off bad side. Grip and comfort of the tire increase remarkably! Of course, the rim can be driven with sealing Tubeless “milk”.  The wheels are provided with an asymmetrical rim profile, which requires a more uniform pitch angle of the spokes. This optimization of the spoke angle brings a number of advantages. The spoke tension on both sides can be better matched to one another, what is the shelf life of the spokes and the entire impeller conducive. The normally directional lateral stiffness is also adjusted so that the wheel appear rigid in itself.  The height of the rim edge for is reduced by 1mm to further limit any risk of contact with the ground. Lateral stiffness improved by 40% compared to the previous version. Resistant to impacts even on the most brittle ground: For all LUCKY JACK SLS3 technology version the absorption of impact energy improved by more than 50% compared to the previous model. Anti-burp system: the heel of the tire is held in position whatever its pressure, no risk of “unseating”. For the rim a Rider weight limit (incl. Clothing and luggage) applies

TECHNOLOGY

  • HooklessThis type of rim is far stronger than the traditional clincher rim. We have used this technology with great success, on our rims since 2011. The height of the rim sidewall has been is reduced to limit the likelihood of contact with the ground and to avoid pinch flats. The tyre is fitted as per a traditional clincher, and is securely held in place similarly to a clincher rim.

  • PaintlessThe rim is manufactured in a dust-free room and does not require any sanding nor varnish when it comes out of the mold. Its surface is harder and less sensitive to scratches: the finish is exceptional!

  • SLS3The SLS3 rims are 10% lighter and strength than the previous version, while maintaining exactly the same stiffness. The manufacturing process and the type of carbon fiber an resin are different. Available only in UD finish. In addition to the SLS3 unique characteristics, the SLS3 is manufactured in a sealed atmosphere and requires no retouching at the exit of the mold. No sanding or varnishing, the finish is exceptional!
